Personnel from the IUPUI Industrial Assessment Center designed a diaphragm pump test rig...
...in accordance with ANSI/HI 10.6‐2010, validated that the constructed test rig was in compliance with ANSI/HI 10.6‐2010 and conducted trials on four pumps. The trials monitored diaphragm pump performance while controlled by standard air operated controls and a MizAir controller. Trial conditions varied pump air supply pressure to 80psi and 100psi while adjusting pump fluid flow rates to three separate nominal rates, including max flow rate. In all trials, at all set points, the MizAir controller reduced diaphragm pump air consumption.
“The air consumption reductions vary by pump, but the MizAir controller reduced supply air consumption by 20-50%”
